Garden for a cook
Chiswick, London
The outdoor kitchen adjacent to the house has been designed for informal dining, with stepped concrete platforms providing seating and worktop space. The area was excavated to provide level access from the house. To achieve the Mediterranean feel requested by the client, the concrete was chemically stained to create a mottled turquoise finish, reminiscent of glazed pottery. Continuing the stepped theme is a double tier lawn area which conceals a sunken trampoline at the back of the garden. Designed in collaboration with Helen Tindale.
