St Michael's on the
Mount primary school
I became interested in how outdoor spaces can be used as part of the school curriculum when studying for a PGCE in science and welcomed the opportunity to work with members of the PTA and the veg-growing expert and writer Sue Berger on this project. A small L-shaped area has been converted into two separate spaces, a wildlife discovery garden, with opportunities for imaginative play, and a vegetable growing area, bordered by herbs. At the time of photography the raised beds were filled with seeds from the Eat-a-Metre scheme, designed to help young children access the curriculum.
