Dutch Contemporary, Barnes

This versatile family garden was designed with owner-architect Anna Spruit. It features a sunken lawn (ideal for containing footballs), edged by pleached lime hedges that cast dappled shade onto the dining area of the terrace. The strict rhythm of the limes provides a contrast to the exuberant perennial planting in the garden, which is mainly concentrated in one generous bed on the south side of the garden. In a raised area to the rear of the garden, the children's garden includes a large sunken plunge pool, with a flush timber cover.
